      Hi Lakshmi,

As part another idea thats being ideated on our uservoice platform, there are few ideas around delegation by org admins when it comes to flow admin responsibilities, in event the flow admin leaves the org or is on long leave.

      https://flowdock.uservoice.com/forums/36827-general/suggestions/34678813-flow-admins-currently-if-a-flow-admin-leaves-the

We will look to see if we can have it implemented for org admin as well, i.e. ability for org admin to delegate responsibilities. But before that, a quick question, given the size of your org, how many org admins do you typically have? Is it only 1?

        Hi Lakshmi,

        Thank you for the details.

I believe you are talking about "Login Using Google" button on the login page along with 2 other options to login.

I am sure you are aware that Flowdock support SSO on the enterprise tier and if you use SSO, it provides a seamless login experience to all your users without having the need need to login via the Flowdock login screen.

Have you considered using SSO, given the size of users you have?

          Hi Neha,
We understand your concern and are actively working on this as we speak. Search on 1-1s is certainly on our short term roadmap, so hang on in there for a little longer and you will see it coming soon.

AdminFlowdock Team (Admin, Flowdock) commented  ·

The current Flowdock development team has been with the product for almost exactly a year now. As such we have a limited purview into what was planned previously. Good news is we have genuinely been planning to add search to one-on-ones given the popularity of this request, so we have kept the "planned" status on this suggestion. It being in that status since 2014 is confusing, frustrating without that context (and even with it) I wish we'd realized that sooner, and posted an update. Apologies. Here is the overdue update we can offer... We are currently upgrading the tech that drives search in general in Flowdock. That work needs to be completed to pave the way for this feature. Hope you'll stay tuned!

            Hi Lakshmi,

            Thanks for submitting the idea.

We understand your concern and have few questions for you.

I would assume Org owner would typically be admins who manage administration on an org, lets take CA for example. Now anyone within CA can decide to create a sub org, lets say HR department has decided to create one and the sub org is created. Now there could be confidential information that might be shared in these sub orgs and flows of the sub orgs, and by virtue of being admin of the parent org should not entitle you to see what's happening within the sub orgs. So the question is, what level of information are you looking from your sub orgs as an owner of the parent org?

            Are you looking at,
            1. What are all sub orgs
            2. Who owns them

            Or more?

Thanks Davis, these are certainly valuable inputs.
We will keep you updated when this makes into our planning by updating the status accordingly.

You also touched on the aspect of difficulty in finding the right flows (and 1-1s) easily, for this very reason we are also actively working on enabling spot light search (smilar to the one on mac) that allows you to quickly get to flows/ 1-1s of your choice easily. Hope you will find value of this as well.

              Thanks again,

              Hi Davis,

              Thanks for the suggestion.

We have couple of questions for you,

              1. Today, in Flowdock, you have an option to close flows that you are not interested in or are not actively participating. This might work for you in certain cases where you are not looking for active involvement, which takes care of the problem of activity bubbles as well. However, you would have to open these flows once a while to know what's happening, in case you are interested to follow them once a while.

              2. There is another idea on uservoice that talks about ability to follow and mute threads based on your choice. You could decide to follow threads (of utmost importance) and be notified always on those threads or you could decide to mute a thread that you don't care about (those lunch discussion ones). This is at a thread level and not a Flow. If we enable this, do you still see a need for hiding activity on certain flows?

As a side note, if you use our Android app, we have an option to do exactly this, hide activity bubbles from a flow as an option per flow. When enabled, this would ensure you do not see green activity bubbles from this flow on any activity inside.

Thanks for your time. Your inputs are greatly valuable to us.

                Hi Ben,
As Tom recommends, you can run polls within Flowdock with the help of emojis, we use emojis like :one:, :two:, :three: and so on to give values to options on the poll and then people on the flows can select the corresponding emoji as their vote.

                  Hi Dylan,
There are 2 kinds of groups that you would deal with on Flowdock,
                  1. @team, @everyone, @all and so on
                  2. Sub groups that you can create @@grp1 @@grp2 and so on

You have a valid feedback around the number being too small to read but across iOS, Android, Web and desktop apps, there is capability that allows you to view who are those 8/10 people that have read your message and that is displayed on long press/ 3d press based on the device you are on.

So once you get to that dialog
                  1. On web and desktop apps - You can click on the group/ sub group name to launch a pop up that displays who have reach against who all are part of the group. People who have read would have a tick mark against their names
                  2. On iOS - 3d press would get you to this information
                  3. On Android - long press on group name would get you to this information

Let us know if you need help

Thank you for taking time out and submitting this idea to us. We are in the process of reviewing this and have few questions and would appreciate your response.

We have been ideating about this and there are few questions/ concerns around this one,

                    1. By virtue of being an Org Admin, should not/ will not entitle the Org Admin access to all flows and rightly so. The reason being, you could always have HR related flows, Finance related flows, even senior execs discussion and decision flows that should not be opened to Org admins just by virtue of them having the admin capability. There is a reason they were never there on that flow to begin with and that decision should be honoured.
                    2. This problem can also been seen on flows where everyone have left the flow (kind of an orphan flow) which means that all the information…

Thank you for the details Trevor, we now completely understand the problem. We will keep you posted when this gets picked up by the team.

AdminFlowdock Team (Admin, Flowdock) commented  ·

Apologies for not explaining this completely, we meant -"So if there are 5 people added by the Flow Admin in the order of 1 to 5, we make 1 as the next admin." followed by 2,3,4 and so on in the order in which they were added. So if both Flow Admin and 1 have left, 2 would be the flow admin automatically.

This is a good discussion and when we get this to our planning will help us in formulating how we would like to address this problem. Thanks for all the inputs!

We will keep you updated when this makes the cut.

                    Thanks for the valuable inputs.

Given this idea talks about #1 situation, here's what we think could be better thing to do:
How about we make the next person added on the flow a Flow admin automatically in the event the admin leaves. So if there are 5 people added by the Flow Admin in the order of 1 to 5, we make 1 as the next admin. This way we would not require the Org admin to ever be notified that Flow level admin has left and also when everyone leaves, it leads to situation #2. Where we would let the last person leaving know the consequences.

Flowdock allows you to manage your notifications across:
                      1. Email
                      2. Mobile
                      3. Web

And also allows you to manage them across per flow to let you decide whether you would want to receive notifications and sounds for
                      - Chat Messages
                      - Inbox Messages
                      - @mentions

So if all you care for is to receive a notification when someone @mentions you, just keep @mention on. (My Account -> Preferences -> Notifications -> Custom settings per Flow)

More information can be found at: https://www.flowdock.com/help/notifications

Let us know if this does not solve your problem.

Thank you for submitting ideas as well as highlighting few issues on the iOS and Android mobile apps.

We are working on improving the experience of our customers on both iOS and Android apps and in our endeavour to improve the apps, we are working closing with few of our customers to help remediate the app crashes on iOS to begin with. Once we arrest the app crashes, we would look to add more features on the apps.

                        Thanks again for your patience.

As you know, we are working closely with few customers (including you :) ) to help remediate the issues with the iOS App crashes. We should be seeing an update to the iOS app soon to solve the app crashes to begin with.

The latest release v4.1.1 should have addressed some of the concerns you have raised above in terms of the frequent upgrade errors that pop up, these should have been addressed by now with v4.1.1.

Thanks again for your support and help

Thank you for submitting this idea.

You could look at the full name of the flow once you click on it, on the top of the centre pane, but this is not ideal and we understand the problem you are highlighting.

While this is not on our immediate roadmap, we have some thoughts around how to address this problem. Along with the ability to expand the left pane and providing a tooltip, do you also see a need to have your own preferred picture loaded against the name of the flow, so that visually its easier to identify a flow? Or you see it is wasted real estate and you would rather have it take up the entire space for the name of the flow?

Hi Ben... I just chatted with our friends over on Instant Agenda. They do not (yet) have a Slack nor a Flowdock integration, but either one might be a possibility in the future

There is another discussion happening about this here:
                                https://flowdock.uservoice.com/admin/forums/36827-general/suggestions/33621109-bug-fix-when-moving-a-message-from-a-flow-into-a
Ben I am copying my comments from that post that relate to your request here:
Yes. This is a known shortcoming of this feature. We discussed it at length, when the current solution was implemented, because we knew this would be a drawback to the solution we had.
We don't currently have an alternative implementation that would allow you to both attach a message to a different thread AND maintain the original timestamp for that message. For the time being at least the current implementation will continue with that shortcoming. If we are able to find an alternative that would allow for both re-threading and maintaining the timestamp, then we would certainly revisit.
Thanks for the feedback nonetheless! It is important for us to know that this shortcoming does impact customers

Interesting how split the comments are on this suggestion. Some so strongly for, others so strongly against. While not ruling it out entirely as an optional feature at some point, we aren't currently considering this in the near term.

Improvements to Search is one of the key things we are focused on this year. Hoping we will have something that helps with this particular use case come out of that work.

We don’t have any short-term plans to add support for voice chat. But in the meantime, you can start a Google Hangout with everyone in a flow with the /hangout command. Another cool voice & video call app is Room.co, accessible via /room — without any registration!

The ability to video chat with appear.in is integrated into FD. For more information on how it works, check out this page in our Help https://www.flowdock.com/help/appearin

The ability to make a voice only call is an interesting idea. We don't have that ability today, but could consider it for future development

You could also utilize the drag and drop re-threading functionality. Hover over the icon (colored arrow or gray bubble only). Left click and hold. Drag and drop it on another threaded comment or one that is not in a thread yet. Right now this will not work for thread starters (the first comment in a thread). Hope that helps.
